Today's recipe is the second example of Paella on this blog, as you can see there are many possible combinations of Meats and Seafood that you can use for cooking it, it all depends on your particular taste. This time I will use Clams, Prawns and Pork.
INGREDIENTS FOR 5 people:
- 1/2 Bell Red Pepper & 1 Green Bell Pepper.
- 300 grams of Pork Shoulder Meat (cut into 2.5 square cms cubes).
- 1 Tin of Chopped Tomatoes.
- 100 grams of Green Peas.
- 200 grams of Clams.
- 150 grams of Prawns.
- Olive Oil.
- 2 Cloves of Garlic cut into slices.
- 1+1/2 Glasses of Rice.
- 3 Glasses of water.
- 0.3 grams of Saffron.
|STEP 1 - In a Paella Dish or Frying Pan add enough Olive Oil just to cover the botton of it.|
|STEP 2 - Stir-fry the Peppers for about 5 minutes...|
|STEP 3 - ...until turning in golden crispy appearance.|
|STEP 4 - Add the Pork meat, the Chopped Garlic and mix it up all very well.|
|STEP 5 - Add the Green Peas and continue stir-frying all for another 5-7 minutes or so.|
|STEP 6 - When the Pork meat is almost cooked...|
|STEP 7 - ...then fold in the tomato tin of Chopped Tomatoes...|
|STEP 8 & 9 - ...add 1 tablespoon of Salt, mix it all very well and allow to fry for about 5-7 minutes .|
|STEP 10 - Now add the 1+1/2 glasses of Rice,|
|STEP 11 - Mix the rice very well and allow to cook for 2 minutes so that Rice has the chanche to get imprgenated of the Tomatos, Meat and other Vegetbale Juices.|
|STEP 12 - Add the 3 glasses of Water and mix very well.|
|STEP 13 - Add the Saffron...|
|STEP 14 & 15 - ...mix all very well and allow to cook at medium strength heat until the Paella Water evaporates. All this process can take between 10-15 minutes.|
|STEP 16,17&18 - About 5 minutes before turning off the heat, then add the seafood and mix it all very well.|
|STEP 19 - Turn the heat off, place a lid on the paella dish and allow the rice to rest for about 5 minutes.|
|STEP 20 & 21 - The Paella is ready to be eaten :-)|
