32 - SPANISH STYLE PRAWN COCKTAIL (COCTEL DE GAMBAS)



Although Prawn Cocktail is a very international cold dish made ​​with boiled and peeled prawns it is also very popular in Spain. It is a very light and refreshing dish served as an appetizer  especially in summer.

Normally Prawn Cocktail is presented in a glass cup with a small simple salad, made with lettuce and rosemary sauce, a mixture of mayonnaise, ketchup, lemon and with other ingredients such as sprinkled paprika for decoration. SO here I am showing my particular way of making Prawn Cocktail. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

INGREDIENTS for 1 person:

- 200 grams of Boiled and Peeled Prawns.

- 1/2 of small Lettuce.

- 1/2 tin of Canned Fruit Mix.

- Paprika.

For the Rosemary Sauce:

- 2 Tablespoons of Mayonaisse.

- 2 Tablespoons of Tomato Ketchup.

- Juice of 1/2 a Lemon.



STEP 1 - Get the Lettuce and Boiled Prawns ready.
STEP 2 - Get the Canned Fruit Mix, the Ketchup, Mayonaisse and Lemon ready.
STEP 3 - Using a fork, mix the Ketchup and Mayonaisse very well...
STEP 4 - ...squeeze the half of Lemon into the Rosemary Sauce...
STEP 5 - ...and mix it up very well using the fork again.
STEP 6 - Add the Pranws into the Rosemary Sauce...
STEP 7 - ... and mix it all very well. 
STEP 8 - Then cut the Lettuce into strips as seen in the picture...
STEP 9 - ...wash the lettuce with plenty of water and drain water off.
STEP 10 - In a clean bowl or glass...
STEP 11 - Place the Lettuce...
STEP 12 - ...the Canned Fruit Mix...
STEP 13 - ...and the Prawns mixed with Rosemary Sauce.
STEP 14 - As a final touch you can sprinkle some Paprika on top the Prawn Cocktail to make it look more beautiful. Please enjoy your Cocktail.
